António Barroso Rodrigues

Law degree (2015), Master’s degree (2022) and doctoral candidate in Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Guest Lecturer (since 2016) at the same Faculty, having taught various subjects, namely Law of Obligations and Contracts, Rights in rem, Family Law, and Law of Succession. He is a research-member of the Private Law Research Centre, where he is a speaker on various postgraduate courses and the executive coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Civil Liability.

He is an associate member of the IDC - Association for the Study of Consumer Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, the Deutsch-Lusitanische Juristenvereinigung (Luso-German Jurists' Association) and the Associação Lusófona de Arbitragem e Mediação. He was a collaborator at the Ministry of Justice for the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the Civil Code (2016) and a Legal advisor to the Secretary of State of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (2018-2019).

He has several publications in Civil Law, where he develops his research activity, especially in the areas of Law of Obligations and Contracts, General Theory of Civil Law, Rights in rem, Arbitration, Consumer Law, and Civil Procedural Law. In this field, he frequently participates as a speaker at conferences. He has conducted research at foreign universities, namely in Germany (Juristische Fakultät der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and at the Juristische Fakultät der Humboldt Universität in Berlin).

He was admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association and has been a lawyer in Lisbon since 2017.
