Big data and protection of personal data: Opinion article by the Researcher Ana Alves Leal in Vida Judiciária journal

Ana Alves Leal, Researcher of CIDP and Assistant of the University of Lisbon School of Law, writes an article in Vida Judiciária journal about the legal framework for the processing of big data in light of the General Regulation on Data Protection, in which she emphasizes that the absence of a proper regime for the processing of big data has raised strong criticism, based on the assumption that this processing of data, by the specificities that it calls, tends to be incompatible with the nuclear requirements of the data protection regime – the transparency, consent, limitation of purposes and minimization of data.
